With reference to Colonial Office letter of 26th

March, No.53732/36, I am commanded by the Air Council to

state, for the information of the Secretary of State for

the Colonies, that they have the following suggestions to

make with regard to Hong Kong Ordinance No.1 of 1936,

entitled "The Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936-

(i) The interpretation of "aircraft" in Section 2

should preferably include "gliders" (c.f.

Article 31(1) of the Air Navigation (Colonies,

Protectorates and Mandated Territories) Order,

1927, as amended by the 1932 (Amendment) Order).

As aircraft are not mentioned in Section 10(a),

(b) or (c), it appears desirable either that

they should be included therein by minor

drafting amendments and sub-paragraph (f)

deleted or that sub-paragraph (f) should be
